Adrian survives
Nick Vandike came in the fifth inning in relief of Bobby Rickstad and proceeded to throw eight innings of one-hit ball to lead the Bulldogs from behind to a 7-6 win in twelve innings. With the win, Kean was eliminated from the championship round. After winning twelve straight playoff games, the defending champions leave Appleton going 0-2 in the 2008 final round.

Kean built a three run lead through three innings with single talleys in each of the first innings as Eric Ammirata, Dan Mattonelli, and Michael Moceri collected RBIs. Kean would add two more in the fourth on Maikel De La Rosa's two-run single to center field.

Adrian would finally answer the bell with four in the bottom half of the inning. A Bobby Rickstad single would start the inning and would be advanced to second by catchers interference call on Brian Bullis. A Jake Cappelletty single would score the bulldogs first run. Adrain would load the bases for Todd Meyers whose double cleared the bases to complete the scoring.

"We went down early, then had that four run inning," said Adrian head coach Craig Rainey. "Todd's hit was huge. It turned the whole momentum around."

Kean would get one back when Dan Gianakas scored on a Brian Burke fielder's choice but Adrian would come back to tie the game. Andrew Anderson would single in Brian Bilus in the Bulldog sixth and in the Bilus would tie the game with a single in the seventh.

The game would remain scoreless through regulation and both teams had a chance to win in the eleventh. Kean started the inning with a Burke single and was sacrificed to second but ended up stranded as the visitor half of the inning ended. Adrian would load the bases with one out and would not be able to convert.

The game would end in the twelfth inning. Nick Sarkissian, in his first at-bat since April, would single. Ross Tonyan would pich run for Sarkissian and eventually score on a ball off Todd Meyers bat that handcufed De La Rosa.

"You never never know when your opportunity will come. Today was the day," Rainey said about Sarkissian's hit.
