Texas Lutheran gets extra inning win
Texas Lutheran, Roanoke, Redlands and Louisiana College all scored wins on Tuesday afternoon.
Texas Lutheran (2-1) edge Southwestern (1-2) 3-2 in an ASC
non-conference game that featured a pitching duel all afternoon.
With the score knotted 2-2 in the eleventh inning, Isaac Tijerina
singled home Danny Yancelson with the winning run.
Redlands (1-0) opened the 2011 campaign with authority, shutting out
the Golden Eagles of La Sierra by a score of 16-0.

All-America ace Derek Johnson tossed five scoreless innings, while
senior outfielders Nate Carlson and Brandon Owashi each tallied
four hits on the day. With today's showing, Redlands posted its
biggest margin of victory for a season opener in over a decade.
Louisiana College (3-0) remained perfect on the young season
Tuesday with a 13-4 win over LSU Alexandria. The Wildcats blew the
game open by scoring eight runs on three hits in the third inning
highlighted by a three-RBI double by senior catcher Chris
Waguespack.
Arkansas Tech scored six runs on just three hits, but benefited
from 15 free passes (12 walks, three hit batsmen) to earn the 6-2 win
over Hendrix (0-2) on Tuesday afternoon at Tech Field.
In other action, Master's defeated action Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
(0-2) 6-2 and Roanoke (1-0) held on for a 10-8 non-conference
baseball win over Ferrum (1-1).
