EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Damewood, OF, Jr., Texas-Tyler
Texas-Tyler junior outfielder Andrew Damewood (Plano, Texas / PHS) batted .600 with a home run and eight RBI over a four-game stretch that was composed of a sweep of No. 29-ranked Texas-Dallas and a midweek win over Austin College. He also walked three times and stole a base as the Patriots improved to 30-0 on the season.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Campbell, RHP, Jr., Texas-Tyler
Texas-Tyler junior right-hander Ryan Campbell (Tomball, Texas / Klein Oak HS) tossed a complete-game shutout against No. 29-ranked Texas-Dallas on the road. Campbell scattered seven hits, struck out four batters and walked one over the nine-inning opener. It was the first time that UTD, entering the conference series with a .373 batting average, had been shut out.


WEST DIVISION

CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK
Jacob Kaase, SS, Jr., Texas Lutheran
Texas Lutheran junior shortstop Jacob Kaase (Austin, Texas / Manor HS) extended his hitting streak to 15 games with eight hits and 10 RBI over an ASC series win against Mary Hardin-Baylor. Kaase, doubled, tripled and walked three times, drove in a career-high six runs with a 5-for-6 performance in the opener.
Michael Simpson, OF, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior outfielder Michael Simpson (Abilene, Texas / Cooper HS) belted four home runs – thee over his final three at-bats – to help the Cowboys sweep an ASC series from Concordia-Austin. Simpson, who hit a two-run shot in his first at-bat of the series, drove in 11 runs and walked once.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Eric Wehmeyer, RHP, Fr., Schreiner
Schreiner right-handed freshman Eric Wehmeyer (San Antonio, Texas / O’Connor HS) picked up a win and a save on the same day against ASC opponent McMurry. Wehmeyer shut the door on the 8-7 win in the opener of the series and pitched five innings of the 4-3 Game 2 victory.


OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES

HITTER: Louisiana College SS Gene Taylor hit a three-run home run to propel the Wildcats to a series-clinching win over East Texas Baptist. . . . Ozarks OF John Glenn went 8-for-17 with five RBI over four games. . . . LeTourneau SS Jordan Faust hit safely in five straight games. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Joseph Villegas batted .500 with a pair of multiple-hit games against Texas Lutheran. . . . Howard Payne’s Ryan Kunz hit two doubles, two triples and walked four times over six games.

PITCHER: Ozarks’ John Scheuring picked up a win over LeTourneau and a save against Rogers State, not allow a run in 3 2/3 innings .. Louisiana College RHP Craig Naquin threw a complete game with four strikeouts to defeat ETBU. . . .LeTourneau’s Ed Hurta went 8 2/3 innings to beat Ozarks. . . . Texas Lutheran’s Adam Enloe tossed six innings of one-hit ball to defeat Mary Hardin-Baylor. He has allowed one run in his last three starts (20 innings). . . . UMHB’s R.B. Garza threw a complete-game with three strikeouts to become the first pitcher to beat TLU at its home park this season. . . . Howard Payne’s Justin Davies gave up two early runs but settled to go the distance with eight strikeouts to beat Sul Ross State.
