EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Jake Jackson, SS, Sr., Texas-Dallas
Texas-Dallas senior shortstop Jake Jackson (Santo, Texas / SHS) went 11-for-13 with two doubles and five RBI in a series sweep of LeTourneau. Jackson also walked once and did not strike out.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Brooks, LHP, Jr., Louisiana College
Louisiana College junior left-hander Tyler Brooks (Kentwood, Louisiana / SE Louisiana) limited a Texas-Tyler team that entered with a .375 batting average and perfect 35-0 record to two hits and one run over six innings. Brooks struck out four batters and proved to be the only pitcher to beat the ASC East Division champion Patriots this season.


WEST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Trevor Bunte, SS, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior shortstop Trevor Bunte (Duncanville, Texas / DHS) went 7-for-13 with seven RBIs from the No. 9 spot in the order to lead the Cowboys to a 4-0 mark and a berth into the ASC championships. Bunte also walked three times in helping HSU extend its conference winning streak to 12 games.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jonathan Miller, Sr., RHP, Concordia-Austin
Concordia-Austin senior right-hander Jonathan Miller (Houston, Texas / Cypress HS) threw a complete-game with 13 strikeouts to defeat ASC tournament-bound Mary Hardin-Baylor. Miller, who currently leads the nation in batters struck out, walked just one batter over the nine-inning win.


OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES

HITTER: Howard Pay CF Kasey Black batted .571 and set a school career record with being hit by 27 pitches. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor DH Chase Beyrand batted .400 with a home run in a series against Concordia-Austin. . . . Texas Lutheran 2B Scott Matocha hit safely in all four games he played. . . . Ozarks SS Cory Briggs hit a game-winnig three-run homer against MC. . . . Texas-Tyler OF Andrew Damewood batted .400 with three doubles against Louisiana College.

PITCHER: Texas Lutheran’s Adam Enloe tossed a complete-game, five-hitter to beat Schreiner. . . . Hardin-Simmons’ Lance Johnson did not allow a runner to third base and took a no-hitter into the fifth inning in a win over Sul Ross State. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Bill Pearce became UMHB’s career strikeout leader by fanning four in a victory over CUA. . . .Howard Payne’s Justin Davies allowed just two earned runs in eight innings against HSU. . . . Texas-Tyler’s Mark Cox threw a complete-game, three-hitter against LeTourneau. . . . Texas-Tyler’s Blake Booher threw a complete-game shutout against Louisiana College with nine strikeouts. . . . Ozarks’ DJ Braswell earned a save against MC while striking out eight batters in 3 2/3 innings of work. . . . Mississippi College’s Shawn Ashley threw a complete-game, four-hitter against Ozarks.
