WEST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Javier Arrieta, SS/3B, So., Sul Ross State
Sul Ross State shortstop/third baseman Javier Arrieta (El Paso, TX) batted .545 with two home runs, two triples, two doubles and nine RBI over a six-game stretch. On of his homers came in a 3-2 win over NCAA Division II West Texas A&M. Arrieta, who also walked twice and was hit by a pitch, was 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brad Wesson, LHP, Sr., Texas Lutheran
Texas Lutheran senior left-hander Brad Wesson (Halletsville, TX / Sacred Heart) picked up the save in the Bulldogs’ season opener against Austin College in the battle between defending conference champions. Wesson tossed three shutout innings with four strikeouts. He allowed only one hit.

EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
David Roux, OF, Jr., Louisiana College
Louisiana College junior outfielder David Roux (Denham Springs, LA / DSHS) batted .625 with three home runs – all in a doubleheader sweep of Texas College – two triples and a double to pace the Wildcats to a 3-1 week. Roux also drove in seven runs, scored six times and walked once.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Williams, RHP, Sr., Mississippi College
Mississippi College senior right-handed starter Tyler Williams (Ridgeland, MS / Hinds CC) led the Choctaws to their first victory of the season by striking out five batters in five innings of work against Huntingdon. He surrendered just three hits and one run that was unearned.


OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
HITTERS: Texas-Tyler 3B Joseph Towns batted .600 with two doubles and a triple, and scored eight runs over three wins. . . . Ozarks 1B/DH Robby Finnell hit .600 with three doubles and 5 RBI over a 3-1 week. . . . Mississippi College 3B/C Paige Hidges batted .556 with four RBI and three walks over three games. . . . East Texas Baptist 1B/DH Cody Jones drove in six runs over his first two games as a Tiger. . . . Hardin-Simmons OF Ryan Stepp hit .500 with 10 RBI over four games. . . . Texas Lutheran 2B Andrew Femath went 8-for-11 in his first series with the Bulldogs.
PITCHERS: Texas-Tyler RHP Blake Booher allowed just one run over six innings to beat Hendrix. . . . Ozarks RHP Bruce Cameron worked 6 2/3 innings against LaGrange to win in his first start of the season. . . . East Texas Baptist RHP Reggie Patrick struck out five over six innings in a loss to Jarvis Christian.
