ASC BASEBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
(Games of Feb. 19-24)

WEST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Wayne Pimpton, OF, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior outfielder Wayne Pimpton (Southlake, TX / Carroll HS) batted .583 with three home runs, one triple and seven RBI as the Cowboys swept Mississippi College. Pimpton hit two homers in Game 2 and his triple in Game 1 led off the ninth inning of a tied game. He eventually would score the winning run.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Clint Johnston, RHP, Jr., McMurry
McMurry junior right-handed pitcher Clint Johnston (Colleyville, TX / Grapevine HS) tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts – six looking – and no walks in a 6-1 win over Austin College. Johnston allowed just five hits and the run was unearned.

EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Bruce Cameron, OF, Jr., Ozarks
Ozarks junior outfielder Bruce Cameron (Houston, TX / Episcopal HS) hit .470 with two doubles, a home runs and eight RBI to guide a 4-0 week that included a sweep of Schreiner. Cameron walked twice, did not strike out in 17 at-bats and stole two bases.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Todd Koch, RHP, Jr., Ozarks
Ozarks junior right-handed pitcher Todd Koch (San Antonio, TX / MacArthur HS) went 8 2/3 innings without a walk and struck out nine batters to pick up the win against Schreiner. Koch did not allow an earned run and scattered four hits.

HITTERS: McMurry 3B Derek David hit thee home runs and drove in seven runs – all in a series sweep of Austin College. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor OF Joseph Villegas went 9-for-18 with two homers and a triple in a 4-0 week. . . . Concordia Texas 1B Chad Thielepape hit two homers on the week – including a three-run shot in a win over Texas-Tyler. . . . Howard Payne C Jose Sierra batted .625 with two doubles over a 2-1 week. . . . Texas Lutheran DH Joseph Brade hit two homers and drove in seven runs as the Bulldogs swept LeTourneau. . . . Texas-Tyler 2B Clay Baker batted .412 with three homers and 10 RBI over a 3-1 stretch. . . . East Texas Baptist 1B/DH Cody Jones hit .462 with five RBI over four games. . . . Texas-Dallas 2B Chris Biguenet dirve in nine runs and homered one over a 4-1 week.

PITCHERS: Texas Lutheran PHP Logan Hull allowed two runs and struck out eight over seven innings to get the win over LeTourneau. . . . Hardin-Simmons RHP Kyle Barton threw four innings of hitless, scoreless relief without a walks over two wins. . . . Howard Payne RHP Adam Garcia allowed just three runs over nine innings to get the win against Louisiana College. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor junior RHP R.B. Garza threw eight innings of five-hit ball to pick up the win against East Texas Baptist. . . . Texas-Dallas RHP Mark Cox three eight innings of shutout ball with seven strikeouts to beat Sul Ross State. . . . Texas-Tyler RHP Blake Booher picked up two wins on the week, allowing just two hits over 10 innings of work.
