WEST DIVISION
CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK
Brent Voorhees, 1B, Sr., McMurry
McMurry senior first baseman Brent Voorhees (Abilene, TX / Wylie HS) became the ASC’s all-time home run and RBI leader during a series win over East Texas Baptist. Voorhees had three homers, a double and 10 RBI over the three games. He hit two long balls in Saturday’s opener to tie the all-time mark of 39 set by David White of Concordia-Austin from 2001-2004. He blasted No. 40 in the nightcap and also broke White’s RBI record of 167.
Tom Williams, OF, Jr., Concordia Texas
Concordia Texas junior outfielder Tom Williams (Austin, TX / AHS) hit four home runs in 10 at-bats – at least one in each game of a series sweep over LeTourneau. Williams also drove in nine runs, hit a double, walked three times and scored seven times.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Ben Whiteley, RHP, So., Concordia Texas
Concordia Texas sophomore right-hander Ben Whiteley (Pflugerville, TX / PHS) tossed a complete-game shutout against LeTourneau to cap a series sweep for the Tornados. Whiteley scattered six hits, recorded four strikeouts and walked only one in the nine inning game. He faced just three batters over the minimum.
EAST DIVISION
HITTER OF THE WEEK
Ed Hurta, OF, Jr., LeTourneau
LeTourneau junior outfielder Ed Hurta (Freeport, TX / Brazosport HS) batted .500 over five games with three home runs – including a grand slam – eight RBI, one double and one triple. He walked once and also had a two-homer game.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Mark Cox, RHP, Sr., Texas-Dallas
Texas-Dallas senior right-hander Mark Cox (Coldspring, TX / CHS) threw the first no-hitter in program history as he faced just one batter over the minimum in a seven-inning, 2-0 win at home over Howard Payne. Cox, who improved to 3-0 on the season, struck out seven batters and walked just one batter in the third inning. He forced eight fly outs and six ground outs in the gem.

HITTERS: Mary Hardin-Baylor 2B Adam Froseschl batted .650 with two triples and a double over five games. . . . Hardin-Simmons 3B Tre’ Sellari hit .625 with a home runs and five RBI over two games. . . . Texas Lutheran OF Ryan Nokelby went 9-for-14 over four games. . . . . Ozarks 1B Robert Mummey hit two homers and had eight RBI to help pace a series win over No.22-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor. . . . Texas-Dallas OF Neal Gordon hit .500 with five RBI over five games. . . . Louisiana College OF David Roux batted .437 over four games, including a home runs in the Wildcats’ win over NCAA Division I Nicholls State. . . . Texas-Tyler SS Kendall Fox went 6-for-12 with two doubles in a series sweep of Schreiner.
PITCHERS: Texas Lutheran RHP Logan Hull tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts in an 8-4 win over Louisiana College. . . . Texas-Tyler RHP Beau Ziegler picked up two saves in 3 1/3 innings of work, striking out seven of the 10 batters he faced. . . . Louisiana College RHP Craig Naquin picked up both of the Wildcats’ wins, strikeout our nine batters in 10 innings of work. . . .Ozarks RHP Todd Koch pitched seven shutout innings to beat nationally-ranked UMHB.
