WEST DIVISION

CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK
Regan Dixon, C/DH, So., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons sophomore catcher/designated hitter Regan Dixon (Arlington, TX / Martin HS) batted .533 with two home runs, one triple and one double over a 5-0 week. Dixon set a school record with nine RBIs in a victory over Austin College, including seven in one inning on a grand slam and a three-run homer. Dixon also walked six times.

Drew Farr, OF, Jr., Texas Lutheran
Texas Lutheran junior outfielder Drew Farr (Taylor, TX / THS) tied a conference record by hitting three home runs in one game against Schreiner. Farr also batted .750 and slugged 2.3750 in the series with another homer, one double and three walks. In his three-homer game, Farr went 5-for-5 with eight RBI and 15 total base.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nathan Copeland, RHP, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior right-hander Nathan Copeland (Granbury, TX / GHS) tossed a complete-game, two-hitter to defeat Sul Ross State in ASC West Division action. Copeland also recorded nine strikeouts, including fanning the first six batters of the game. He walked just two and allowed one run over the seven-inning game.

EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Paige Hodges, C/3B, Jr., Mississippi College
Mississippi College junior third baseman/catcher Paige Hodges (Crowley, LA / LSU-Eunice) hit two home runs, three doubles and drove in six runs to help the Choctaws earn an ASC East Division series win over Ozarks and a chance to play for the division crown entering the final week of the regular season. Hodges, who takes the division’s top hitting honor for the second time this season, batted ,400, scored six times and stole two bases.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Ed Hurta, RHP, Jr., LeTourneau
LeTourneau junior right-hander Ed Hurta (Freeport, TX / Brazosport HS) fired a four-hit, complete-game shutout to defeat Texas-Dallas. Hurta, who has now earned both the division’s top hitting and pitching weekly honor this season, did not walk a batter and recorded four strikeouts in the 1-0 victory. He outdueled Texas-Dallas’ Drew Waggoner, who tossed a one-hitter.

HITTERS: Ozarks SS Cory Briggs went 8-for-13 with two home runs and 10 RBI in a series loss to Mississippi College. . . . Texas-Tyler C Corey Farra went 5-for-6 with a triple, double and four runs scored in wins over Louisiana College. . . . East Texas Baptist 1B/OF Cody Jones drove in eight runs and hit a homer over six games. . . . Concordia Texas OF Tom Williams batted .500 with three homers to pace a sweep of Mary Hardin-Baylor. . . . Schreiner’s J.D. Escobar went 5-for-10 with six runs scored against Texas Lutheran. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor OF Earnest Pena hit three home runs in a doubleheader against Concordia Texas to become the first UMHB player in 10 years to hit 10 homers in a season. . . . Howard Payne OF Nick Loving had a homer and eight RBIs in a series loss to McMurry.

PITCHERS: Texas-Dallas RHP Drew Waggoner was a hard-luck loser of a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts against LeTourneau. . . . . Texas-Tyler RHP Ryan Campbell tossed a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts against Louisiana College. . . . Concordia Texas RHP Ethan Morrison had eight strikeouts and allowed just two runs despite surrendering 10 hits to beat Mary Hardin-Baylor. . . . Howard Payne RHP Adam Garcia went 10 1/3 innings, allowing four runs in a loss to McMurry. . . . Schreiner’s Chris Armijo went 6 2/3 innings with four strikeouts to beat Texas Lutheran. . . . . McMurry’s Clint Johnston went nine innings with 10 strikeouts in a tie game, before turning it over to Austin Wood, who threw two innings of scoreless relief in a 4-3 extra-inning win over Howard Payne. . . . Texas Lutheran RHP Casey Zamora earned a three-inning save against Shreiner.
