Blue Jays Can't Match Dubuque In Dropping Baseball Pair

Fulton, Mo. - The Westminster baseball squad (2-4) scored 17 runs, but were outscored in dropping a pair of games, 9-6 and 13-11, to the University of Dubuque (7-0) Sunday in the home-openers on Saucier Field.

Sophomore Danton Hughes (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the offense in the 9-6 opening-game loss. Junior Kevin Moritz (Chesterfield, Mo./DeSmet) went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI to pace the attack in the 13-11 nightcap loss, while freshman Justin Whitaker (Kossuth, Miss./Kossuth) went 3-for-5 and scored a pair of runs. Hughes also contributed two hits and scored a pair of runs.
