Cortland forced a winner-take-all title game with its come-from-behind 7-6 win over the Presidents earlier Monday afternoon.

    Alex Weingarten (East Rockaway/Lynbrook) threw a five-hit shutout as Cortland defeated DePauw, 9-0, to stay alive at the NCAA Mideast Regional The Red Dragons (36-8) will face Keystone in an elimination game Sunday at 1 p.m., with the winner needing to defeat Washington & Jefferson twice to win the regional.

    Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team advanced to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Midwest Regional Championship game with a 8-3 victory over the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) Sunday night at UW-Whitewater's Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium. The Eagles improve to 31-18 on the season and will face Concordia University Chicago (Ill.) in the regional title game Monday, May 22 at 10 a.m. UWL will need to defeat Concordia Chicago (Ill.) twice to capture its third straight regional crown. The second championship game would start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
  • Cortland Blows Out Keystone, 22-4, to Advance to NCAA Mideast Regional Championship Round

    WASHINGTON, PA. – The Cortland baseball team moved into the championship round of the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional with a convincing 22-4 victory over Keystone College in an elimination game. The Red Dragons (37-8) will face unbeaten host Washington & Jefferson College Monday at noon. The Presidents need a win to advance to the NCAA Division III World Series. If Cortland is victorious, a winner-take-all championship game will follow. Cortland has won four straight games at the regional after losing its opener Thursday night to DePauw.

    The North Central College baseball team's improbable run continues to Appleton, Wisconsin and the 2017 NCAA Division III College World Series, as the Cardinals punched their ticket for just the second time in school history with a 3-2 win in 11 innings over sixth-ranked Birmingham Southern College, finishing a perfect 4-0 at the Central Regional.

    With two thrilling wins under their belts, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars were ready to get back into action at the NCAA IIII Midwest Regional after Saturday's washout. They took the field this morning against the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, a team that has had a hand in eliminating the Cougars each of the last two years while advancing to the Division III World Series themselves. This time, CUC might well return the favor, as their 14-0 rout of the Eagles in Whitewater, WI put them in a position to advance to the World Series in Appleton, WI next weekend with one more win tomorrow.

The Maroons advance to face an opponent to be determined at Noon on Sunday with a chance to advance to the NCAA Division III World Series in Appleton, Wisconsin. Roanoke will have to win just one game on Sunday while their opponent will have to defeat the Maroons twice.
