April 30, 2016 Andrew Niech Breaks Two More Records, Notches 50th Double on Senior Day; Knights Fall to WP JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | On Senior Day 2016 at New Jersey City University, one of its all-time greatest players claimed two more all-time program records. Senior catcher/designated hitter Andrew Niech (Avenel, N.J./Colonia), the program's only senior, notched his fifth and sixth all-time career records, and ripped his 50th career double and 11th home run. However, it wasn't enough as William Paterson University clinched a New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament berth with a sweep of the NJAC doubleheader, 13-5 and 10-3, on April 30 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.
April 29, 2016 Four Bases-Loaded Walks Doom Knights in 6-5 Loss at Stockton GALLOWAY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University baseball was seeking a series sweep of Stockton University and led 4-0 going into the seventh inning stretch. But the Ospreys scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh and capitalized on four bases-loaded walks by NJCU pitching in the inning as Stockton held on for a 6-5 win in game two of a home-and-home New Jersey Athletic Conference series on April 29.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Freshman right-hander Ray Liguori(Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) tossed a complete-game gem, allowing no earned runs, and the New Jersey City University baseball took advantage of two breaks and a throwing error in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Gothic Knights rallied for a 3-2 walkoff win over Stockton University in the opening game of a home-and-home New Jersey Athletic Conference series on April 28 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | There's a new all-time hits king in New Jersey City University baseball history and his name is Andrew Niech (Avenel, N.J./Colonia). The Gothic Knight senior captain completed a four-year journey to become the first player in the 69-year history of the program to collect 200 career hits, eclipsing the program record of 199 set a year ago, and also registered his 100th career RBI. But NJCU committed four errors that led to seven unearned runs in a 13-7 loss to the College of Staten Island in this year's edition of the 'Bayonne Bridge Series' on April 27 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Junior right fielder Joe Coutinho (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) had a two-run double in the seventh inning to draw the New Jersey City University baseball team within a run but the Gothic Knights could not take advantage of men on in the final three innings and fell to Montclair State University, 3-2, in the backend of a two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference home-and-home series on April 22 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.
