  • #8 Cortland Earns Win and Tie at #22 Salisbury

    SALISBURY, MD. – Cortland, ranked eighth nationally in Division III, picked up a win and a tie at 22nd-ranked Salisbury University in a non-league doubleheader. The Red Dragons won the first game, 6-0, behind a combined shutout from Matt Valin (LaFargeville) and Dan Hobbs (Saratoga Springs), and the teams played to a 3-3 deadlock in the second game before the contest was called due to darkness after the 12th inning. The tie game is Cortland’s first since a 10-10 verdict at Ithaca during the 2012 season.

    (HOOVER, Ala.) – The Thomas More University baseball team opened the 2019 season today (Friday, February 22, 2019) with a 5-3 win over DePauw University at the Birmingham Southern College Tournament at the Hoover Met Complex in Hoover, Alabama.  Thomas More is 1-0, while the Tigers fall to 0-1.

The Bombers will kick off the 2019 campaign with a trip to Norfolk, Va. where they have a three-game slate scheduled against Virginia Wesleyan on Feb. 23-24.

  • Oglethorpe's Jack Bartlewski named SAA Player of the Week

    Senior first baseman Jack Bartlewski of the Oglethorpe baseball team won the SAA Baseball Player of the Week award Monday, marking the first such award of his career. It's the second SAA weekly award the Stormy Petrels have won on the young season, as freshman right-hander Jonathan Haab took SAA Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 11.

    Sophomore Thomas Paulich drove in a run for the second game in a row and classmate Roy Iversen struck out five in his first collegiate start as the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team won their home opener with a 3-2 non-conference victory over SUNY-Old Westbury at Dobbelaar Field.

  • Stormy Petrels hold on to win 19-13 slugfest

    The Oglethorpe baseball team got an outstanding offensive performance on Sunday at a rain-soaked Anderson Field, breaking one individual single-game record and tying another, but they had to hold on to beat George Fox 19-13 in a wild slugfest. The Stormy Petrels led 12-1 early in the game, but they hung tight to the lead as the visiting Bruins brought the potential tying run to the plate late. With the win, the team improved to 2-5 on the season.
  • Sewanee Baseball Defeats MacMurray in Saturday Twinbill; Sunday’s Finale Canceled

    SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee baseball team captured a doubleheader sweep on Saturday against the Highlanders of MacMurray College, 10-0 and 8-1. Due to foggy conditions on the Domain, the doubleheader was played in Winchester, Tenn. at Tomahawk Stadium.

    The Oglethorpe baseball team allowed 10 runs combined to Pacific Lutheran over the fourth and fifth innings Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field. The Stormy Petrels attempted a comeback in the ninth, but it was too late and the visiting Lutes hung on for a 14-10 win. The loss dropped the Petrels to 1-5 on the season.
  • Oglethorpe falls to No. 13 Christopher Newport

    The Oglethorpe baseball team had a tough day Friday at Anderson Field, falling to No. 13 Christopher Newport 19-3. The Stormy Petrels allowed multiple runs in four innings and the visiting Captains hit four home runs en route to the victory. With the loss, the Petrels fell to 1-4 on the young season.
