Valesente has been the head coach at his alma mater since 1979 and departs South Hill with a career record of 1,136-507-8 at the helm of the Bombers program. He maintained the tradition of excellence in what is Ithaca College baseball for four-plus decades and guided IC to 38 seasons with 20 or more victories. With a 31-9 campaign in 2019, Ithaca continued the nation’s longest streak of consecutive winning seasons (in all divisions) to 81 years.

    ITHACA, N.Y. – On Tuesday, June 4, the College Sports Information Directors of Academic released its Google Cloud Academic All-Americans for the 2019 baseball season and Ithaca College senior outfielder Matt Carey was selected to the third-team. Carey becomes the first IC baseball player to achieve this distinguished honor since 2010-11 (David Ahonen) and is the seventh player in program history to be selected as an Academic All-American. He is also the 97th student-athlete since 1969-70 to be named Academic All-American.

    UNION, N.J. – The nationally ranked No. 21/19 Ithaca College baseball team had its 12-game winning streak come to an end in the opening game of the NCAA Division III Union, N.J. Regional as Westfield State University topped the Bombers, 4-2, on Friday afternoon at Kean University’s Jim Hynes Stadium. Ithaca is now 31-8 on the season and will have to play through the elimination bracket for the remainder of the regional to keep its season alive.

    ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 21/19 Ithaca College baseball team will head down to Union, N.J. later this week to take on Westfield State at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 17 for the opening game of the NCAA Division III Regional at Kean University’s Jim Hynes Baseball Stadium. Ithaca will be the top seed of the regional, while Westfield State is the four seed. Host Kean is the two seed and will play third-seeded Shenandoah University at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

    ITHACA, N.Y. – For the eighth consecutive season, the No. 25 Ithaca College baseball team can call themselves Empire 8 Conference champions as the Bombers took down St. John Fisher, 8-5, on Saturday afternoon at Cornell’s Hoy Field. Ithaca has won all five E8 Tournaments since the conference began sponsoring a postseason championship and now have won 17 of the last 19 Empire 8 titles. IC also extends its winning streak to 12 straight games and will find out on Monday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. during the NCAA Selection Show where it will play next as part of the Division III Championship.

    ITHACA, N.Y. – For the second consecutive game, the No. 25 Ithaca College baseball team fired a shutout in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament as the Bombers blanked St. John Fisher College, 4-0, at Cornell’s Hoy Field on Friday afternoon to advance to tomorrow’s final. Ithaca is now 30-7 on the season and has won 11 straight games. Fisher falls to 28-13 and will square off against Stevens later today in an elimination game.

    ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 25 Ithaca College baseball team posted an impressive 5-0 win over Utica College in the first game of the Empire 8 Conference Baseball Tournament at Freeman Field behind eight shutout innings on the mound from senior Emmett Dunn. With the win, the Bombers are now 29-7 and advance to tomorrow’s semifinal. Utica falls to 15-23 and will play in an elimination game at 4 p.m. later this afternoon.

The Bombers’ bat exploded in the twin bill for 33 hits, including 10 for extra bases. Susquehanna is now 17-14 overall.

Ithaca improved its record to 7-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Empire 8 with a sweep of the Pioneers, 4-2 and 11-2. Utica falls to 2-9 and 0-2 in conference play.
