Juniata athletics officials announced the appointment of our new baseball coach, Tom Gibboney. Gibboney is no stranger to Juniata as he has mentored student-athletes here for over 16 years. This will be his third time as a part of the baseball team.
Adam Sheibley's passion for Elizabethtown baseball was on display each time he took the field for the Blue Jays as a student-athlete. He'll get to rekindle that passion in a new role after being announced as the 10th head coach in program history, Friday afternoon.
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- After a layoff of 11 days which included a postponement last weekend, the Juniata baseball team returned to the field as it hosted Penn State-Altoona in the Eagles’ home opener on Tuesday afternoon. In Game 1, JC led 4-0 after the first inning and added runs in the fourth and fifth innings on its way to an 11-4 victory.
Ursinus is just one team that has finished their spring trip and is headed back home to finish up their non-conference schedule at home St. John's also heads home with a win while Juniata had to settle for a split with King's on their final day of competition in Florida.
AUBURNDALE, FLA.- Juniata baseball ended its eight-game Florida trip with a doubleheader against King’s College on Friday morning. The Eagles dropped the first game 4-2 but came back to win the second game 6-2.
LAKELAND, FLA.- Juniata baseball was finally able to celebrate victory as the Eagles swept a doubleheader from Cazenovia on Monday afternoon. JC came back to score twice in the top of the seventh to win 5-4 in Game 1 and had a season-high 12 runs in a 12-1 win in Game 2.
ALTOONA, Pa. – Juniata baseball turned a 2-6-4 triple play in the bottom of the sixth en route to a 4-3 victory in game two, earning a series split against Penn State-Altoona Tuesday. The Lions took game one 5-4.
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Hunter Price (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) ripped a walk-off single to right centerfield with two outs in the ninth Sunday afternoon to give Juniata a 9-8 victory on the game and the series win against Merchant Marine. It is the second walk-off victory for Juniata this season.
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Juniata baseball played its first game of the season at Langdon-Goodale Field on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Hunter Price (Huntingdon, Pa/Huntingdon Area HS) pitched a seven-inning shutout for the Eagles as they defeated Merchant Marine 9-0 in Game One of a doubleheader. It is Juniata’s first win over the Mariners since 2011.
LAKELAND, Fla.- Juniata went ahead 10-3 in the bottom of the fifth but had to withstand a Cairn rally in the ninth inning as the Eagles ended their Florida trip on a high note with a 10-7 win over the Highlanders on Friday morning. The game was played on the campus of Southeastern University.
WINTER HAVEN, Fla.- Juniata baseball jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning as the Eagles piled up a season-best 13 runs and 16 hits in a 13-3 win over Ursinus in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday morning. The game was played at Chain of Lakes Stadium.
AUBURNDALE, Fla.- Down 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Juniata baseball team got the big hit when they needed it. Freshman centerfielder Devyn Carper (Altoona, Pa/Altoona Area) hit a triple to right centerfield to score two runs as the Eagles stunned Cazenovia 6-5 in eight innings on Tuesday night in the nightcap.
HUNTINGDON, PA- Starting pitcher Eric Grace (Hopewell, PA/Northern Bedford) was solid over eight innings as he limited Drew to just two runs as Juniata defeated the Rangers 5-3 at Langdon-Goodale Field on Saturday afternoon. The win is the first for the Eagles in Landmark played and improves their overall record to 5-8. Drew falls to 5-9 and 3-3 in the Landmark.
AUBURNDALE, FL- Eric Grace (Hopewell, PA/Northern Bedford) pitched five innings of one hit ball and the Juniata offense banged out 15 hits as the Eagles’ baseball team began its 2015 season with a 15-0 victory over Cairn on Saturday afternoon. Grace had six strikeouts and surrendered just two walks.
LEWSIBURG, Pa. – On the first day of the Landmark Conference season, the Juniata College baseball team dropped a close came to Susquehanna University, 6-4, on Depew Field at Bucknell University field. Senior pitcher Chris Fulton (West Chester, Pa./Unionville High School) threw seven complete innings in the loss giving up 11 hits and six earned runs, striking out two batters.
AUBRUNDALE, Fl. – The Juniata College baseball team pounded out 18 hits and scored 14 runs on its way to two seven-inning wins over Waynesburg College, 8-4 and 6-1, to improve to 3-7 on the year. Senior Joe Sforza (Pittstown, N.J./Immaculata) went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in and three runs scored as the pitcher in game one before finishing off the day 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored as the designated hitter in the afternoon.
AUBRUNDALE, Fl. – On the first day of spring break, the Juniata College baseball team fought a tight battle with New Jersey City University (NJCU), eventually falling 6-5. Senior Brad Medellin (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) was 1-for-2 with two runs batted in and one run scored and junior Cody Krepps (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) with 3-for-5 with an RBI.
BRIDGEWATER, Va. – On the second day of the 2014 season, the Juniata College baseball team upset the No. 24/25 team in the country on the road at Bridgewater College. Juniata earned its first win of the season in a dramatic top-of-the-ninth-come-from-behind performance to take game one 8-7 before falling just short of a second comeback and dropping game two 4-3.
HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Juniata College baseball team stepped onto a field for the first time this year and opened the 2014 season with a doubleheader at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU). Despite a strong start, the Eagles dropped both games, 12-8 and 15-1, respectively.
