    Methodist and Piedmont took a tumble in this weeks D3baseball NCBWA Top 25 as they went 0-2 in the USA South tournament. Salisbury and Washington U made strides after being named the top regionally ranked team in their region.

    Ninth inning magic kept No. 23 Denison in the top five nationally in wins and winning percentage. In Top 25 clashes, Christopher Newport passed a test with Salisbury and Wheaton (Mass.) reverse the tables on Babson, taking two on the day from the Beavers.

    Johns Hopkins and Kean won contest between Top 25 teams. Kean defeated Swarthmore on a neutral field in Florida and Johns Hopkins took down Salisbury at home on Sunday.

    For 31 games, Washington College came away without a win against No. 20 Salisbury, on the 33rd try, the Shoremen came away with a 10-7 win, their first of the Sea Gull Program. In other Top 25 action on Wednesday, Castleton clipped No. 16 Chapman.

    Thomas More won their opener in their final year in D-III over DePauw. Cortland traveled to to Salisbury and a left with a 1-0-1 record in a battle of Top 25 opponents. Frostburg State needed every run as they outlasted New Rochelle, 17-13 to remain unbeaten.

    No. 15 Salisbury captured its 15th CAC championship Saturday afternoon, defeating Penn State University-Harrisburg, 10-4. It marks the third straight title for the Sea Gulls, who have now won the tournament six of the past seven seasons.

    Salisbury returned to action for its fourth game in three days when it hosted Manhattanville. The Sea Gulls were able to get rolling offensively to earn a 12-6 victory and give head coach Troy Brohawn his 100th career win.

    One run games were the norm as Willamette and Whitworth opened the NWC tournament with wins. On the other coast it was offense that ruled the day as the winning margin of the three CAC games averaged 11+ runs.

    No. 6 Birmingham-Southern put an end to La Grange's six game win streak and Virginia Wesleyan upset No. 24 Salisbury. N.C Wesleyan and William Peace fell to non-DIII opponents on a light schedule for the day.

    No. 17 Salisbury captured the program's 13th Capital Athletic Conference championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 12 Frostburg State, 9-8. The Sea Gulls began the day with an 11-10 victory over Marymount to advance to the championship contest.
